The MACS RIG: Medium Adaptive Carry System
The MACS is our core chest rig component, designed to balance the trifecta of second line gear: general purpose space, modularity, and Shepherd's caliber-swapping insert field.
Featuring a 4-column MOLLE field on each side, the MACS is designed to work around varying mission mindsets, designed for civilian to military applications.
- The MACS requires a 1" Standard Harness and Basic Back Strap, SOLD SEPARATELY. -
Design Objectives:
- Field Repairable wing buckles: The wings of the MACS have field repairable split-bar 1" buckles, designed to be removed to integrate to more second line gear.
- Integrated Second Line Core: Designed to fit a variety of mission sets, the core of this rig has a hard-sewn general purpose pouch mounted directly on top of the Shepherd Caliber-Swapping insert field. Our Elastic Inserts with hook velcro on both sides fit in a 9" x 5" x 1" field: commonly 3x 5.56 mags OR 2x 7.62 mags. The central General Purpose pouch is sized 9" x 5" x 2.5" and has a loop field inside.
- MOLLE Wings: Attach other second line gear to the MACS to make your kit work for you: with 4 MOLLE columns on each wing, attach pouches like our 42-Series of GP pouches to round out the kit.
- Scalable Design: The rear of the MACS features an 8" x 4" hook velcro field, designed to attach hangers like our Frontload pouch. Add EUD capability to the MACS with the Shepherd TAC pouch.
- 1" Harness System: Attach any industry 1" harness that utilizes ITW/NEXUS 1" buckles, but don't forget to check out our Padded Yoke and 1" Standard Harness to complete your setup.
